• Hey there,

I was updating the functions.php file on my site and I must have made a mistake coding as I am now receiving a white screen that reads the page isn’t working HTTP ERROR 500. I’m working on this site for a client, and naturally am pretty freaked out that I am now unable to login to the WordPress. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

    The site is: https://orangetreeboutique.ca/

    Thank you in advance!

    was updating the functions.php

-Try replacing this file from backup or fresh
    – If not, Internal server errors are usually described in more detail in the server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for any errors that occurred during that time period. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.

    Thanks for your reply.

I should have clarified—I’m quite a beginner at all of this. I was taking over where someone left off (who disappeared suddenly) and am hardly qualified to be doing any back-end stuff.

I essentially have no server information, simply the WP login info which is where I have been doing the bulk of the work. I don’t know anything about internal server errors or how I go about figuring out who the hosting provider is, let alone how to contact them.

Simply put, I’m panicking and very unsure of what to do. Appreciate any advice or solutions, the simpler the better.

Search indicates orangetreeboutique.ca is hosted by PDR

You can also ask them to restore your site to a previous backup they might have

Am I right in assuming that PDR stands for pdregister?

If so, do I simply contact them through the site? I don’t have any of the login info.

    Thanks for all your help.

I am able to get a hold of the site that hosts my domain name but I have no way of contacting the hosting site as they told me they have no record of my client’s information. My question now becomes: should I just build the site from scratch on WP through a new hosting server and then use the existing domain on this new WP site? Does this make sense and is this something I am able to do?
