What’s going on with Plugin Update???

Same here. Dozens of sites showing an available 1.9.9.9.9 update, none actually updating.

1.9.9.9.9 update is supposed to mitigate “…the unpatched security issue in WordPress 4.7.4 (a zero-day exploit).”

…but apparently there are complications to the WP-SpamShield 1.9.9.9.9 update.

There is an issue with www.ads-software.com — where the plugin is hosted — this issue has nothing to do with the plugin itself.

We reported the issue almost 8 hours ago to the plugins team. They informed us that the SVN sync jobs are running slow. IMO there may be additional technical issues on their end as other plugin developers are running into the same problem.

Please be patient, and hopefully this will be fixed soon. Unfortunately this is completely out of our hands.

The 1.9.9.9.9 update seems to be available now. Please try to update again. If anyone has further issues, let us know and we’ll provide a link on our site to download it manually.

That’s good to hear. Unless absolutely necessary, we won’t push out any more updates until this issue with the SVN is fixed. As long as the SVN is sync’ed, there shouldn’t be any issues, it’s only when new versions get added.

Right now though, I’m glad the update finally became available on www.ads-software.com, as it provides some important improvements, including mitigation for the CVE-2017-8295 WordPress zero-day exploit.

We’ll stay on top of things on our end as well.
