incomplete rendering of upsell popups after upgrade

Upgraded to Woocommerce 3.0.6
Now, when you select a variable product for the up-sell “you may also like…” you can not select a variation and the qty and add to cart buttons are missing. The server is sending the form. but the browser is not rendering the functionality.

My guess it is that there something simple I am overlooking. Any ideas on what is causing this?
