Styling the exerpt to work with Visual Composer Masonry grid

Recipe excerpts are currently generated automatically from recipe metadata. They cannot be customized at the moment.
Could you please explain why you think this is necessary and what should be customizable exactly?

Long answer. My SEO guy says we need to include H2 tags in the copy- for better Google ranking. Also making the copy H2 makes the recipe page itself a bit more interesting looking – its not all paragraph copy. But when i make the content h2 – it automatically loads that in the excerpt-
on the page https://www.urbanaccents.com/recipes/
the excerpts become the same size as the headline- (i am using a visual composer postmorter grid as a more visual home for the recipes)
so i am using a third part plug in to strip code from excerpts.

Well, you’re using the plugin in a way it is not designed to work. So strange things might happen.

Still I’m not really getting the point: On your recipe page all recipe titles are enclosed in <h2>-tags. That’s correct as <h2> is meant to be used with secondary headlines. (Primary woulb be your site’s title).
What else do you need enclosed as headline?
Those sentences summarizing the recipes definetely should be paragraphs in <p> tags as these are text and not headlines. Anything else doesn’t make any sense semantically and structurewise.

For SEO I’d strongly recommend to improve your sites loading speed. It took me 25s (and a total of 471 requests!) to load your recipe site. That’s horribly slow and will definetely hurt your seo scores. Try to reduce the number of files that need to be loaded.
