PHP Fatal error in Storefront theme 2.2.0

Thanks for the report! We’ve seen a few instances of this so far and we are looking into what could be going on.

In the meantime, please roll back to version 2.1.8 which you can download here:

Thank you. Rolling back has restored access to our wp-admin dashboard. Please advise when it will be safe to update again.

I fixed this by changing the PHP version to PHP 5.5. No need to rollback

Ok, that’s not good. We are on a server with many sites and a legacy PHP version 5.3.3. Will have to discuss moving some sites unless the minimum version can be lowered. WordPress published minimum is 5.2.4+ https://www.ads-software.com/about/requirements/

We released a patch in 2.2.1 which will work for sites with older versions of PHP.

The WordPress recommended minimum is now “PHP 7 or greater”

I have my site hosted at Godaddy and the highest PHP version is 5.6. What do you do in a situation like this? I am sure I cannot pursuade GD to get a higher version….

I am having the same problem and I saw your post about rolling back, you even included the zip file. How do I roll it back when I no longer have access to my wp-admin? Or, how do I update to 2.2.1 where the patch is located that you discuss?

Dave,

You can access your site via FTP. Browse to the /wp-content/themes and delete the storefront directory.

Then download the updated version from www.ads-software.com, unzip it and upload it to your site.

You hosting company should be able to assist you with this process if necessary.

Thank you so much for the guidance. I will give it a try. One more question though, if I delete the storefront directory will it delete all of my product that I’ve uploaded?
