how to add my translation?

    I transòated the .pot file with poedit and it returned a .po and .mo file for Italian. I put those two files in the languages folder of the plugin, but it didn’t work. what else should I do? I even provided the translation for Italian on the wordpress tranlsation project, but no-one approved. it.
