Website Blog

Hi I am trying to create a Website + blog using wordpress. I will using the pages for the website and “categories” for the blog.

Now I have a header with menus and a sidebar which displays the “pages”.

How do I make a second “index” page which will be the blog page. In the sidebar “categories” should be listed.

Hope the above makes sense. (Sorry for my poor english)
