• I installed a plugin for SSL and HTTPS rerouting. On the set-up options, I selected force redirect of all pages. Big mistake. On all browsers I am getting the SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP message and I can’t even get back to the dashboard to deactivate or uninstall the plugin. I really would appreciate some advice on how I can get back to the dashboard to undo what I have done.

    Hey there,

You can remove the plugin folder from wp-contents/plugins/ as it’s similar to deactivating the plugin. To access the plugins folder, you can use FTP or your cPanel file manager.

    Cheers!

Thank you for the help. Please forgive me as I ask a couple of questions that show how much I don’t know. I have only accessed the dashboard through the login, so I don’t know the FTP address. Is there a way I should be able to figure out the ftp address based on the domain name? Don’t I have to be able to get to the dashboard to get to the cPanel file manager?

    Hello @sdbhodge,

In order the establish a FTP connection you need the FTP server address, the FTP user name and the password. In most cases the FTP address is equal to the domain name. But without knowing the user name and the password, the server address is rather useless.

I suggest contacting your hosting provider and ask him how to access your cPanel and/or your FTP server.
