    Hi there,

It’s impossible for anyone wihtout the manage_options capability to access WordFence. This is extremely frustating since we can’t allow our clients to have full access to the wp-admin but they want to use WordFence really badly.

Is it possible for you guys to either add an apply_filters to the
Is there any possibility that WordFence will add a filter or custom capability like manage_wordfence to wfUtils::isAdmin() so that other specific users can access the WF Dashboard?

  • I’m sure WF support can jump in for your specific question, but I’m really curious as to why you would even want to give non site-admins access to your site’s security firewall in the first place???

That’s like opening a bank, then giving the public the keys to the vault!

Because they are site admins but simply with restricted access. We service the clients and they pay is to do so. We don’t want them to change settings, install plugins etc because that’s what we do for them and by doing so we make sure to have some form of quality control.

In this specific case there is a client that has another party handling campaigns for them etc. and they requested to install WordFence. I simply don’t want to give them access to the last 5% they’re missing just to open up WF for them ??

I would still think that WF settings are something you don’t want many people to be able to access, even partial admins – but that’s just my opinion….

But anyways, I suspect it would have to be a feature request for the WF team.

I completely agree with you but sadly there is no other option here ??

    Hi @jebble
We do have a similar feature request ticket logged in our system (reference number: #FB1510), I’ve edited this request to add your vote, however, I can’t promise whether it will make it into a release or not, and I don’t have an ETA as well, but all suggestions are evaluated by our dev team and considered seriously.

    Thanks.
