Fatal error upon adding drop down or radio button question

    Whenever I add a dropdown or radio button question on my forms, I get the error message below:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_detect_encoding() in /home/**/public_html/wp-content/plugins/ultimate-member/core/um-filters-fields.php on line 383

    Can you please help me fix this ?
