  • Are you using the native WordPress Category Widget or one provided by a plugin?

If the WordPress native widget, what ‘parameter’ settings are you using.

I’m not seeing a problem with that widget though.

Yes, I am using the native widget. I am not sure what you mean by parameter though. I wonder if this is related to my permalink problem. All of my links pull up the front page.

    From Appearance_Widgets_SubPanel:
    * Show as dropdown — if checked, this box causes the categories to be displayed in a dropdown box.
    * Show post counts — if checked, this box causes the count of the number of posts to display with each category.
    * Show hierarchy — if checked, shows parent/child relationships in an indented manner.

What do you have checked for those three boxes?

Also, does the number of Posts show correctly in your Posts->Categories subpanel?

right now, I have none of the checkboxes checked. Yes, under the categories subpanel, the # of posts show up correctly. I also checked on several themes and they all show no categories.

I have two categorites that I have added. but they don’t show up. I have added new plugins and I am not sure what the problem is.

also what do I need to do to totally redo a blog from scratch. what has to be removed from the server for it to be from scratch?
