Category list not showing zero for number of posts

@mglass1906 – your problem would ‘seem’ to be different than beemer141 as beemer141 is showing the category but a zero count. Also please note that I posed a question on your thread https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/225037 that you might consider answering.

@beemer141 – how are you displaying those categories? Is it via the native WordPress Category Widget? If so can you also mention what parameters you are using with that widget. If you are using something like the wp_list_categories in your sidebar.php, please provide an example of what that code is. Also if you check your Posts->Categories screen, does it show the number of posts correctly?

It worked just fine untill I added some more blog catagories then the post numbers just went away..

explain where to actually go with: Posts->Categories screen

if I go to manage catagories on the left their is ID# is that the post?
because if so there all there.

Sorry beemer141 you are using Version 2.0.4. I forget in 2.0 isn’t there a Manage->Categories screen that show the number of posts for each category?

in my dashboard I have this
Blog Stats
There are currently 532 posts and 0 comments, contained within 13 categories.

this is wierd…
I went to manage / post on right side I clicked on a post to edit
put a check in each box just for that post and clicked save
now all the catagories are showing how many post there are..?????
will i be having this same problem with every catagory I add?
or is there somewhere else there I can accomplish the same thing?

And yes I do have the # of post in the catagories screen now….after doing what I mentioned above.

I forget when, but at one time, yes you could edit or add a category to a post and the post count would get updated. Don’t know why it goes wrong to begin with.
