• Every new update of the HUEMAN theme seems to come with new problems!
(I really loved the theme until 3.3.6 – since then: nothing but problems!)

    My site: dare2go.com!

    1. The menu on mobile for my site isn’t working at all anymore!

    Why?

    2. the latest fiddling around with H header font sizes overwrites my custom-css, as saved in my child theme!

Has it again been hard-coded into some stupid place instead of the theme’s own css-file?

How do I get MY font sizing back without adding css to Customiser? That only creates another band-aid mess, where in the end I can’t keep up where my current css is stored…

Right now I get ‘widows’ with almost every blog post header. ??

    —————————

I am using HUEMAN since early 2014, I gave it raving reviews, a 5-Star rating here on WP, I defended Nicolas against other critics… NOW? If I would have the time I would have long dumped it for another theme – this is just getting too much. Ticket after ticket for problems created with updates.

Don’t come with ‘wind back to an old version’ – where will that leave me if there’s a real security update? [Sorry, but I’m UPSET with this mess! How do you ever think to get satisfied customers for the ‘premium version’ remains a mystery to me…]

    Hi @webbeetle,

    1. Nothing has been specifically changed for the mobile menu in version 3.3.13. The mobile menu will use any of those 3 menus if they are set, in this priority : mobile menu, topbar menu, header menu.

    2. headings size : this question is addressed in the comments of the release note.

I understand your frustration and I’m really sorry that the updates are generating problems for you.

    But please forgive us.

We try to satisfy our users the best we can with the features that they need. As you can see on github, we have a lot of issues / enhancements to handle.

But at least 50% of our work is done to make sure that the theme stays 100% up to date and compatible with :

    • WordPress ( which is not an easy task, considering all frequent updates ),
    • the WordPress plugin ecosytem,
    • the devices ( which are also evolving fast ),
    • the browsers ( let’s not event talk about it…especially ie ),
    • the technologies ( all modern wordpress themes must rely on external libraries, in particular javascript libraries, which are also being updated frequently).

Add to this that the theme is used by more than 80 000 users, who are potentially adding their custom code with child theme or custom css.

As you can imagine, maintaining a 100% safe and bug free theme in those conditions is an almost impossible task.

But we try to do it, and for the moment I consider that my (small) team and I succeed. Hueman is more and more used and still gets awesome reviews, which makes me very happy, despite all the troubles.

Thank you very much for your understanding and patience ??

    Cheers

My wife informed me, that the menu issue happened to her over a week ago – so it’s NOT the latest update which caused this…

Travelling full time (with only mobile data!) I don’t have the time to check such things on a regular basis – I simply expect such core functions to work.

So what can be done about this?

To clarify my settings in “WP Customiser” for the mobile menu:
Select the menu(s) to use for mobile devices: Topbar Menu
Mobile devices : top menu visibility on scroll: Always visible
Style of the mobile menu button: Simple

Yet, when one clicks the ‘Hamburger’ button no menu expands – NADA!

Yes, the changes to the H headers was mentioned in the change log.
But that doesn’t explain why they were done in a way that they overwrite my chosen styles, saved in a child theme.

I want to get MY styles back. But how?

Thanks to the recent update 3.3.14 the H header font sizes are not overwritten anymore!

But the MOBILE MENU issue remains! (see above)

Did you try purging cache, my mobile menu wasn’t working either until I read on this forum to purge the cache in WP Super cache plugin

    (@webbeetle)

@jspill – clearing the cache (or the latest update to 3.3.14 – not sure which one, as I hadn’t checked after updating) did the following:

    1. the menu hamburger on top is now completely gone;
    2. the hamburger menu button at the bottom of the page works as it should.

    = still not okay!
