@kartus:
In order to activate the popup, you have to set a minimum condition (either ‘All Pages’ or ‘All Posts’). There are more detailed options for pages and posts, as well as categories and tags. But it starts there. Here’s a link in our documentation to ‘Conditions Introduction’.
Next you need to trigger your popup. If you don’t set a trigger (even with an activated popup), nothing will happen. The free version of our plugin comes with 2 default triggers: ‘auto_open’, and ‘on_click’. The former is set on a time delay, from 0 – 10 seconds (you can set the max value higher, but we’ll save that for later). The latter is set by clicking on some element on the page. You define what what the containing (wrapping) HTML element is on the page that you want to target. People typically target navigation links, images, buttons, phrases or paragraphs of text. It can be any element on the page. You add that containing HTML element as an extra CSS selector within your trigger. Read our documentation on triggers to get to know them better.
Lastly, there are cookies. Cookies run a small script on your site. They can be set to prevent a popup from reopening after it’s been closed or a form has successfully been submitted. Once you create and save a cookie, you need to add the ID of the cookie to your trigger. That will link the cookie to the trigger that is displaying the popup. Read about cookies here.
Hope this helps. If you’re still having difficulty getting the popup to work the way you want, send us a support request on our website.
