    Hello all,

I have been using Ninja Forms on my website with the theme “Mega” for quite some time. I also bought the conditional logic add-on, because I needed this functionality. Everything went well for some months, until I upgraded WordPress to the 4.5 version, which broke the conditional format function. I thus sent an email to Ninja Forms support about the problem, and they gave me the following answer:

“The reason that this worked when you changed your theme is because it is causing a javascript error on your page which breaks Ninja Forms. In the 4.5 version of WordPress, the javascript libraries were updated. https://www.ads-software.com/news/2016/04/coleman Can you check with your theme developer and see if they have an update to your theme that uses the latest javascript libraries?

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.”

Fair enough, so I contacted my theme (Mega) developers if they were planning to update the theme to a new version. As an answer I received something extremely vague: “I’m so sorry for keeping you wait about the update information. I have forward you request to my team and they will reply you soon.”

I still have no news on any updates.

As I don’t want to wait any longer, I decided that I want to fix this problem myself. But I don’t really know where to start. As a beginning I checked the Coleman update to 4.5 regarding the javascript libraries that were updated:

These are the libraries that were updated with the coleman update:

jQuery 1.12.3, jQuery Migrate 1.4.0, Backbone 1.2.3, and Underscore 1.8.3 are bundled.

Hereby an example of my website with a test form: https://www.surfawhile.com/testformulier/

Does anyone have an idea of how to fix this issue?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Hans

  • Hello,

I’m confused a little bit, you are talking about WordPress 4.5 but your website runs on 4.8, also Ninja forms have updated their plugin to run on 4.8.

I’m not getting any errors on my chrome developer console from the page you link I see a select input, that gets another selection input (for example if I select But, another one pops out ) after submitting it though it just reloads the page.

I don’t know what it should be doing or if that is the problem.

But mainly, you have WordPress 4.8 and if you are running the latest Ninja Forms it should support 4.8, that’s what their plugin is saying.

jQuery is loaded through WordPress except if the theme developer of Mega thought of changing that which would be a disaster either way.

Please explain further what the actual problem is so we can understand at least what you are trying to achieve here and help if possible.

    Best regards,
    Konstantinos
