I am not seeing any options for First Class shipping options only Priority. How can I get it to show me first class shipping options?

    Hi there,

You can’t see First Class rates offered when you calculate shipping?

Double check you selected First Class services in WooCommerce >> Settings >> Shipping >> Shipping zones >> your zone >> USPS (WooCommerce Services) >> Rates :

If you still can’t see First Class rates offered, it might not be available for the package you try to ship.

    Cheers,

A problem with this is that I don’t WANT to charge my customers the full price of shipping. I want them to pay the rate I have listed, and then I will pick either media mail or first class depending on how far away the destination is.

But with this set up, I can only choose media mail/first class if I set up a zone for THEM to select.

I don’t want them to select. I want to select once they’ve ordered.

Follow-up: Okay, I think I see how to do what I want, mostly.

I attach USPS to my shipping zone, and then I enable certain methods, and I add a discount to those methods. My customers end up getting charged .25 or thereabouts for what used to be free shipping.

But that’s not too bad a solution so that I can print labels for media mail WITHOUT needing my own stamps.com account.

Media Mail is a tough thing. Automated postage computers at post offices don’t let you pick it. Most electronic “lists of packing choices” will not include media mail. But for those of us sending books, it’s often the best option!

Anyway, I do appreciate all the work going into this free plugin. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing the details. Glad to know that you were able to work around this.

I am having the same problem. I can only see Priority Mail Service options in checkout. I cannot see any First Class Service options.

Yep, same problem here – I can only see priority, not first class. Based on the weight & size of what I’m trying to order, the system SHOULD be able to tell that my order can fit into a First Class large envelope. Instead I just get Flat Rate.

    Hi,

Could you test if switching from retail to commercial rates solves your problem?

    Thanks.

    Nope. Had no effect.

    Hello @rboulet,

Based on the weight & size of what I’m trying to order, the system SHOULD be able to tell that my order can fit into a First Class large envelope. Instead I just get Flat Rate.

Can you share the product dimensions and weight? That will help us determine if there is a problem with our packing logic.

    Thanks!

    Thank you for the reply.

We actually went a slightly different route with shipping, but I believe I did figure it out before we went live. It was how I had input each item & the envelopes. I didn’t realize I needed to enter the maximum width of an envelope in order to get the calculation. Makes sense, but for me it wasn’t intuitive. Once I did that, things started working normally.

So maybe in the documentation/notes you could mention that?
