Shop display

  • I understand it’s not currently available but at some point could you please add the facility to sort the shop display. I would like to arrange things in order of it’s release date. Maybe even add the ability to select a certain items to stay on the front page.

  • The default WooCommerce theme, Storefront, and most others I’ve seen, automatically come with a sort drop-down which displays just above the product list. The standard options are sort by default, popularity, rating, newness (= release date), price (asc) and price (desc). You can set default = most-recent in WooCommerce settings. Check that you have not disabled the sort drop-down in your theme settings. Please post a link to your site.

    To select certain items, click the star on the product line in the product listing. This sets the product as a featured product. Use the featured_products shortcode to display them:

    Thanks for the reply. The drop down menu is still there but it doesn’t really do what I want it to. Ideally I’d like to be able to select say 8-10 of the newest items and have them always on the first age unless I change them. Everything else I advertise will be on the following pages.
    It was either this way or according to year of release. I sell vinyl & CD’s and have listed some new releases from this year but have also picked up some old/used releases which I want to advertise but I’d prefer to keep the items from this year on the front page.
    If I select newest first then it’s advertised in the order I actually posted it for sale.
