I have been helped to set up a website by a friend using WordPress, which is hosted by a 3rd Party company – https://www.wharfedalewildlifephotography.co.uk

I came to update it the other day & it seems that the website has disappeared. On any PC or mobile device we get screens asking us to install WordPress.

I haven’t done anything to delete the website (as far as I know) & I’m not sure it’s possible to do this accidently.

I’ve posted this under a new user ID as I can’t get my original one (rgreenwood) to work. It’s like my original existence has been wiped from the WordPress universe!!!

    Thanks in advance,

    Richard

  • Hi Richard,

It seems that you have no wordpress installation present on your hosting account.

Either the database got deleted or there is a missconfiguration in your wp setup.

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

So I need to take this up with my website hosting company? I assume if it’s a missing database it’s recoverable? (Sorry, I’m not very good at the technical bits in the background!!)

    Richard

If your hosting company includes some kind of backups, you should ask them about this. And yes, if there is a backup, you can recover things.

If you think this solves your issue, mark topic as resolved.

    Thanks
