After installing WordFence Version 6.3.15, I get continual Internal Server Errors. I contacted my hosting provider and tech checked server log and said something is preventing theme from loading. I tested adding – define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false); – to my wp-config, but no improvement. The theme I’m using is Responsive, Version: 2.7.2, By CyberChimps.com. The Internal Server Errors stopped when I uninstalled WordFence. Does anyone have any recommendations? I really want to use WordFence. I have it on 3 other sites and it works perfectly.

  • Hi @jlewis54,

Just to make sure, can you confirm that the issue doesn’t occur if you switch to a default theme?

In order to get more information I suggest you enable WP_DEBUG and search for warning/error messages in the generated log file.

Thank you. When I logged into my WordPress site today, there was a theme update available that wasn’t there yesterday. I updated the theme to Responsive Version: 2.8 and then reinstalled WordFence and ran a scan. It worked. So I’m in business. Case closed.
