I’m confused about SSL using the plugin. The popup comes up but my URL site doesn’t have SSL and customers will not want to put their credit card in without SSL.

Can you tell me how SSL encrypting is handled using this plugin on a site that does not have ssl?

    Hello @scoutsc,

The popup will always come up (as long as javascript is enabled), but Stripe will answer with an error if the level of encryption is not what they expect, once you have the token and try to sent the modal form values.

You can check the doc at https://stripe.com/docs/security

    I hope that will help!

    Take care,

Most hosting can issue you a free SSL. They call it Let’s Encrypt SSL inside the cpanel. I know my host has that for all my domain names.

I have taken a payment and setup a subscription without an SSL being installed. Is this because the customer had a Stripe account already?

If they just tried to put in a credit card number would it fail?
