• Hi there.
First time in the forums – would love if you guys can help.

I downloaded a new theme for my site (Lay theme) and later I found out it doesnt support javascript. I need javascript to be able to host my Shopify buy buttons on the site that use javascript.

Is there any way to “install” javascript on a theme? Or should Ijust move on and find a theme that supports it already?

I appreciate your time in advance
    Eanna

I don’t know what you mean by “it doesn’t support Javascript”. What are you trying to do? If you want to add js to the header or footer, there are plugins for that:

    Hi Steve

Thanks for getting back to me. Here is what the developer of the website told me:

“Hello, I see there is some javascript in that buy button. This javascript is not executed in lay theme because lay theme is a single page javascript application but this button only works on “normal” websites.”

Is there a way I can change this and make the theme accept javascript?

    Thanks
    Eanna

I have no idea how your developer built your site. If he says it doesn’t support javascript, then we have to take him at his word. Find another theme.

You should ask him again; what the developer said doesn’t make any sense

Is there anything I can do? can I attach a Javascript script and file in the header that will give me compatibility?

Can you please share URL on your website?

Javascript file could be in the header or footer
