rss feed setup help please

  • sorry if this sounds elementary but, how do i go about setting up my rss feed? I am setup right now with the options theme and when i add my rss widget i get the following message “Error: could not find an RSS or ATOM feed at that URL.” so i guess I’m wonder the process in order to have my rss widget work properly so people can subscribe to my blog

    <p>I can get single feeds recognised through the widget e.g. https://www.usfa.dhs.gov/rss/usfa.xml, but I am still not sure how to have multiple feeds picked up.</p>
    <p>Interestingly I put the feed URL for my blog through feed burner. It created a feed URL, but what’s the use of having your own blog posts listed on your blog?!? I tried burning a feed for the google reader URL, but it is not recognised as a feed URL, either by FeedBurner or through Feed Validator. I hopes this helps. Beyond having one feed, I am not sure how to get multiple feed URL’s showing in the side bar?</p>
