How to set fixed image height 425px and keep width 100%?

Hi,
I’m trying to make the slide 425px fixed height with width 100%.Image should stretch height 100% (425px) and width auto (proportionally to height).
The problem is that whenever the image sizes changes, it changes the container sizes as well. Overflow hidden covers the right arrow and caption.

The test is local. Cannot access outside of network.
I’ve seen a slider from another website that works, but it uses background-image instead of<img />.
