Emails Don’t Get Sent When From Same Domain Email

Hi,
In the Mail settings I have my From email one that’s with the same domain name as needed, however when I submit a form I never receive the email. I know the form is submitted and the details are captured because I use a plugin (here) that shows it was captured. When I change the From email address to one that isn’t from the same domain, there’s the validation error but all emails go through the the inbox. Any ideas why this might be the case? I’d rather follow best practice and have it from the same domain but it doesn’t work.
