    Hi,

    When my customers checkout and return to my webshop, the item(s) stays in the cart and does not empty itself. When I disable the plugin, the problem is solved. Can somebody help me?

    Thanks for the post. To be sure that I’m on the same page – are you saying that once someone purchases that item, the item remains in the cart? Or does this behavior occur before the customer completes a purchase? To clarify a bit, it is expected that items will remain in a customer’s cart until they complete a purchase, remove the item from their cart manually, or clear their cache and cookies. If something else is happening here, though, please reply back with exact steps, a link to your site, and your WooCommerce System Status report and we will be happy to dig in.

    Hi Pearl,

    Sorry for the confusion…
    There are two situations I can explain.

    1) MailChimp for WooCommerce active: customer completes a purchase, the cart does not empty itself.

    2) MailChimp IN active: customer completes a purchase, the cart DOES empty itself.

    So the problem only occurs when the plug-in is active. I really wanted to use this one but not when this ‘fault’ occurs. I don’t want my customers to clear their cart manually.

    Thanks for the reply and clarification! That does sound a bit unusual – if you don’t feel comfortable sharing a link to your site and including a txt file with your WooCommerce System Status Report here on the forum, could you please write in to MailChimp support with this information?

    I did. However, the plugin is not active right now cause of this error.

    I understand – thank you for writing to MailChimp support with that additional information. Without those details it would not be possible to further trouble shoot this issue on our end, however, with that information provided to the MailChimp support team they should be able to nail down the exact issue causing this adverse behavior.

    Hi –

    I know this is an old thread, but wanted to mention that I’m having the same problem on a client’s site. I was glad to find this post, as it saved me a ton of research time and possible frustration.

    After a customer completes checkout, the item(s) they purchased are still in their cart. When I deactivate this plug-in, the problem disappears. I hadn’t noticed that this was a problem until the last few weeks, so I’m guessing it’s a plug-in or theme compatibility issue. My hope is the problem will resolve when we update the underlying theme later this year. If anyone knows of another simple solution, I’m all ears!

    P.S. I don’t believe I can submit this to MC support, as I don’t have a paid MC account. Happy to be corrected if someone can direct me where to post this.

    Hi – I am having the same problem, i.e. cart is not emptied after purchase has (successfully) completed if MailChimp plugin is activated, while cart is emptied as MailChimp plugin is not activated.

    Versions:
    Wordpress: 4.9.4
    WooCommerce: 3.3.3
    MailChimp for WooCommerce: 2.1.4

    @mcsupport: Is there (already) a fix or known work-around for this issue?

    I just noticed that I have the same issue. When a customer completes an order, the cart doesn’t clear.

    I’m also having the same issue and I have the 2.1.5 plugin that is supposed to fix this.
