Categories are not assigned to the Posts.

Hello, I have a worry, when I try to assign a category to a post, it does not work.
I can create new categories, but I can not assign it to post.
I disable all PlugIns, and I am conned Admin, but it does not work.
i m using 4.7.5 version.

Just a thought but I’m thinking this may be a permalink setting related issue.
Go to Settings / Permalink / Custom Structure and if not there copy
/%category%/%postname%/and save..NOTE: Doing this sort of thing after search engines have indexed the site typically requires URL redirection in google console to include such changes.
