Tagging / taxonomy: descriptions

  • Is there an easy way to associate descriptive text with tags in WordPress? I’m trying to display a description on the listing page of some tags.

    Not with tags, no. Most people don’t use tags for that sort of thing, as categories are better suited for it.

    I disagree. I run a Picture of the Day blog with 250+ tags, and the list is growing. Categories are ill-suited for the kind of granularity that tags are designed for.

    I want to give my users a short description of what to expect from a tag, if only on a “list all tags” page.

    In short, I want tag descriptions.
