Conflicting FAQs re Share Button Popup displaying when only 1 option selected
-
Hello! I uploaded the free version of this plugin yesterday and really like it. But I want the buttons to just be for sharing, so I assigned just this function in the settings. But clicking on the button still takes the user to the SM site (eg FB) – to share, they have to wait for the pop up, then select ‘share’.
I have checked the FAQ but get two different answers.
On the WP Org FAQ, the answer is: The pop-up only disappears if you’ve given your sharing buttons only a ‘visit us’-function, otherwise (e.g. if you gave it ‘Like’ (on facebook) or ‘Tweet’ functions or sharing functions) a pop-up is still needed because the share buttons for those are coming directly from the social media sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter) and we don’t have any influence over their design.
This implies that there is NO WAY to stop this from happening.
On the Plugin website FAQ the answer is: Please check out the Premium Plugin which avoids the tooltip/pop-up in those cases.
This implies that the Premium version does not have this problem.
So which answer is correct?
If I buy the Premium version, can I assign just the sharing function to the buttons AND have no pop up display? Or is the issue outlined in the WP org FAQ still going to apply?
Thank you!
Please note: I have assigned 2 functions to the buttons for the moment so users have to choose. This is probably the less confusing option.
