Font awesome version number

  • Hi

    Any chance you can add font awesome version number? Im unable to use some icons in my theme

    It’s essential for developers who are enqueuing Font Awesome to add the version number, this way WordPress will use the latest version.

    It seems this developer hasn’t added a version number, so it uses the WP version (4.8).

    The current version of FA is 4.7, so WP is loading their stylesheet, even though they’re truly using FA 4.3 (which likely doesn’t have that icon in it).

    Hi @en18zone,

    Unfortunately in WordPress this thing doesn’t work like this.
    Which “wp_register_style” function for “font-awesome” was called earlier will be uses and there is no difference what version it will be.
    We can add version for font-awesome, but nothing changes.

    Well, the author of the theme im using gave me the reply in my post above and after disabling Load More Products for WooCommerce plugin i can successfully filter a font awesome icon.

    Can you confirm that this plugin is using the latest font awesome and that its been added properly? I would hate to look for alternatives to this plugin

    Hi @en18zone,

    Plugin uses Font Awesome 4.3, style added properly, but unfortunately WordPress don’t care what version of style will be added. WordPress uses style that registered first.
    You can update Font Awesome in plugin and all will be work correct.
    We will update Font Awesome in next plugin release.
