New Subscriber

    This is Charanjeet Singh running a blog mention above. I m getting new subscriber in user detail. Kindly help to know where I m getting new subscriber though there is no sign-up form on site.

    If you don’t have a big ‘Register Now’ button/link somewhere, it’s a 99.999% chance that your site has been found by automated tools and placed on a big list of WordPress sites that automated bots sign up and crate accounts on. Sometimes it’s for hacking(not too often), sometimes it’s for SEO (backlinks, articles, comments, etc) and other times it’s just testing.

    It’s very common. I had one site that I left open as a test, and at it got between 50 and 200 new “users” every day with each one of those users welcome emails bouncing back because they weren’t real.

    To combat this, there’s plugins like WP Spam Shield, amongst others.
