My WordPress Blog is not allowing me to post anything and also it now not allowing me to Login–I went to the file manager on my website and clicked to repair database and it gave me this message:

wp_users: 4 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_metatarsus: 4 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_posts: 5 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_options: 6 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_postmeta: 5 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_terms: 4 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_term_taxonomy: 5 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly
wp_term_relationships: 4 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly

I do not understand what this means or how to fix it. Please help Thank you

  • wp_metatarsus doesn’t exist as a core table so this is probably caused by a plugin I guess. You can try repairing the database from your server instead. To do this:

    1) Log in to your server’s admin panel and find phpMyAdmin and run it.
    2) Select your database from the left side list.
    3) Select ( mark with a tick ) the tables that you want to repair, it’s all the tables that you see as 'wp_users', 'wp_posts' on your above post.
    4) Under the tables list you will see a drop down With Selected:. Click that and select Repair.

Make sure to have a backup first.

Thanks for the info, but I do not find phpMyAdmin.

It is Yahoo server and in the File Manager I only see wp-admin and in that I see admin-php

I am not very familiar with all this php stuff and I think that Yahoo should be supporting the WordPress Blogs they host, but they say the can’t, so I am trying to fix, but am at the point where I think I may need to look for other hosting.

Bottom line–I can’t do what you are asking so now what?

    ??

It’s not php stuff don’t be scared by it’s name ?? It would be as simple as viewing your emails to tell you the truth. But I have no experience on Yahoo Hosting, since there’s no ‘phpMyAdmin’ ( i’m not aware if they use a different database manager ) on the account panel then it would be their responsibility to help you out on database issues. Maybe another forum viewer might be able to help that has insights of how Yahoo is. Until then I would simply request them to make a repair. It’s not even about WordPress, a repair and other commands as well should be always available since you are dealing with databases.

Thanks for the link @t-p I did check it out and it looks very helpful, but in the meantime I did call Yahoo/Aabaco Customer Support and talked with them extensively. They say they are trying to do all they can to get this problem fixed. It seems the main problem is that they are at this time only supporting WordPress version 4.6, so when the blogs that they are hosting update higher, like mine has to 5.8.1, problems come about. They told me they are working with WordPress to resolve this issue, so I am hoping they can.
For the moment, they did repair the database for me, so I am able to use the blog again but cannot do any updates at this time, which means my plug-ins are not working properly.
So, hoping WordPress and Yahoo/Ababaco can work together and get this thing solved as I really don’t want to change hosting–been with them for 20 years and it would be a lot of work to change everything over. ??

hey did repair the database for me, so I am able to use the blog again

    Glad to know it ??

this time only supporting WordPress version 4.6 … they told me they are working with WordPress to resolve this issue,

Hope so! 4.6 is old and outdated software, not safe.
