I’d switch back to NextGen, but I can’t find a lightbox I like that will work with it. I want it to have touch-swipe abilities on mobile devices. I like that Nextcellent works with PhotoSwipe, so for now I’m sticking with that. But, being out of date, it has a lot of problems.

I figure there must be a suitable solution, but I’ve tried a lot of things, including adding plugins like Responsive Lightbox and others to try to get one of NG’s lightboxes to work with mobile in a suitable way, but to no avail.

Preferably, I’d like pinch zoom to work on the images too, which is one reason I like PhotoSwipe. But I can’t get PhotoSwipe to work with NextGen.

Does anyone know of a solution? I’d rather not pay for an add on, if I can help it.

Okay, got Responsive Lightbox to work with it, and the “TosRUs” lightbox within that plugin is nice, and swipe-able. Just had to put rel="lightbox" in the Code blank for a Custom lightbox.

Unfortunately, none of the lightboxes with that plugin seem to allow for pinch zoom. In fact, the only lightbox I’ve found that does is PhotoSwipe, and I can’t get that to work with NextGen. Anyone know how to do it?

@jamminjames – Although we do not provide support for third-party extensions or libraries you might be able to get the author of “PhotoSwipe” to assist with what it needs to be used.

    Best of luck!

Okay, but I think NextGen really needs some better lightbox options built in. Seems like the same old tired lightbox options have been there for years, and none are very good. Great gallery plugin other than that. Thank you.

@jamminjames – We bundle those Lightbox libraries as a convenience and always recommend our NextGEN Pro Lightbox available with NextGEN Plus and NextGEN Pro.

    Thanks!

Same problem with the pro version, everything works fine on desktop but multiple issue on all mobile devices!!

I had same issue on mobile, there were conflicts so I had to use another gallery. Not much help, I know, sorry.

@cohistorian – You’re welcome to start your own topic if you return to using NextGEN Gallery and we may be able to help you get things sorted out.

    Thanks!
