• Hello AMP Team,
I would like to ask you how to fix this one.
The Blog posts AMP page was showing correctly before I set a Custom AMP Front Page (It was redirecting the Home AMP page to the Blog posts page automatically). And now when I access the Blog page it is showing it as an empty page.

The Page itself in the admin panel is with empty content – it is using a Page Attributes -> Template “Blog Page” from which it takes information about the posts to display there. The AMP settings there are: Show AMP Content – YES , Mobile Redirection – YES.

It was working and showing with no problem before and now it isn’t. Please advice me how to fix this. Thank you.

    Kind regards, Nick.

  • Why are you setting a custom front page if you want to show a blog posts page? Turn that off. Then resave your permalinks and clear any caches like W3TC or supercahce you are using.

    Hi @frenchomatic ,
I have set Custom Front Page ON because when I type the link of the webpage (for example: https://www.studentlofts.ca/amp/) then it automatically redirects to the Blog posts page instead showing the original Homepage there.
This is why I had to set the Custom Front Page to lead to the actual Homepage of the website. But after that the blog posts page ( Example: when I type https://studentlofts.ca/student-lofts-blog/amp/ ) is showing blank with no blog posts content in it, which was showing normally in AMP before I set the Custom Front Page there.

    I think I understand.

There are two ways to deal with this

    1. First of all turn off custom front page. In the editor make sure the home page is also set to hidden.

Check that your normal home page has no amphtml tag in the source code <link rel="amphtml" href="https://studentlofts.ca/amp/" /> . If it doesn’t then google has no way to find https://www.studentlofts.ca/amp/ providing you remove a link from any other amp page to it. Even then this page will not be valid.

Go to your blog posts page. Make sure in the editor it is set to show.

    Does that solve it?

    2. What I would do is this as it is how I generally set things up – keep custom front page turned on. Go to your home page and in the custom AMP editor, make a page of roughly the same content as your normal canonical page. It doesn’t take long to do. Make sure your custom front page is set to the home page in the drop don selection. If you want to test first just put in anything to the custom AMP editor – make sure all is working.

Blog posts page – make sure it is not hidden.

    Hello @frenchomatic ,
Thank you for your answers and help.
My page is made by the second way you have described – Custom front page – ON, built homepage entirely with the Custom AMP Editor and is set in the dropdown selector of AMP Custom front page.

The Blog page is not set to hidden and still displays an empty page while trying to load it’s AMP version there.

    Hello @sejiro , @ahmedkaludi ,
Thank you very much for having noticed this issue.
Actually it worked by setting the “Student lofts blog” as a posts page in Reading settings.
Thank you once again for helping me.
Have a good and successful day!
    Best reagrds, Nick.
