Very new…Where can I get content?

  • Hello everyone,
    First off, I am very new to making websites/blogs; so I appologize in advance for my ignorant questions… I love computers and the internet, and I love the fact that there is pretty much an infinite amount of information at the touch of my finger tips. But, I am in college, work, etc. that takes up a lot of my time. So I figured, why not do something that I love and possibly make some money(for my loans and dream car..05+ Mustang Gt 5spd:D).

    So, I paid $15 for a web hosting company, and made my own website and installed WordPress(heard a lot of good things about it); and have been trying to learn as much as possible about all of this.

    My question, I have basically figured out what I want to write about; but stumbled upon a issue with acquiring content…

    1. How/where can I get content pertaining to my niche legally? Is there a free way, or is it a service that you(for the most part) pay for?

    2. I’m guessing you cannot just copy a link(I.E. youtube video link) onto my blog, without consent or running into copyright problems?

    3. When or if I acquire this content/information, what would you suggest to be the best plugin/way to get that content onto my website?

    I apologize if I’m posting this in the wrong forum, or doing something that is against the rules. I just really want to get this to work, so I can try to up my traffic and I enjoy doing it:D. I just think that having new news, pictures, look appeal and information; that it would help my website. But I don’t want to do anything illegal or wrong with doing this, like just getting pics off of Google, or copying videos from youtube, etc.

    I apologize for the long post, I was just trying to be as thorough as possible. But I just want to learn how to ad free or low cost legal media content to my blog.

    If you’re looking for something to supplement your content try Googling “article directories” – some of them allow you to reprint their content on your site.

    If the video on YouTube allows embedding, you can embed in your blog. It is as simple as copy-paste the “Embed This Video” link that YouTube gives you. The video owner / uploader has the choice to disable embedding if they don’t want you to be able to do this.
