• Hi guys!
Thanks for the great team, I did a lot with it but I just need on really important change.

I’m using the Virtue Free Theme and I on the Portfolio section/page I would like to remove or disable the lightbox on the image. I’m using a single image, that means the same image as marked as featured image. The effect on the image is not so good because of the zoom in my case, so I just want to see exactly the image as it is, the real size.

I know it’s possible adding some code, I saw an example with the portfolio slider page, but after trying some code with it, didn’t work. Would you mind to give me a hand with it?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi arthellin,
Looks like you got this working?

    Hi again,

Maybe I didn’t explain it well, I mean, the lightbox and the size, because the featured image for the portfolio looks like a cropped image, I said I would like to have it with real size, not cropped. I thought it was the lightbox code but seems is not :/

OK, I think I’m following now. The image you’re uploading is too small and the theme is not able to properly crop it. Try uploading a larger image.

The image I’m uploading has the size of the featured image, I mean, the proper size to set up as the image portfolio (as I was following the instructions and so on).

So it looks with the right size on the front page and also on the portfolio page, where you can see all portfolio items. Now that you get my “idea”, is there a way to change that? That the portfolio single item has the same size of the featured image and not another size? Because in this case, is almost the double size according to the documentation guide I followed.

The featured is about 365px: https://icmdigital.es/ofertas/
and the one in the portfolio is about 652px or inches: https://icmdigital.es/portfolio/samsung-sl-x3220/

When you gonna design something to be on the portfolio has to be practical and with the proper size to respect the design and the product’look. Otherwise I don’t get why if you offer two different sizes, it has to be with the same image, it might look fine with a landscape image but not with a product/object one.

Which guide did you follow? We would always recommend uploading larger images.

    Hi again,

I followed your advice and I attached you the screenshot. The final result it looks like a shoddy work so I hope I can make some miracle on Photoshop to “cheat” it.

Anyway I think it would be much better if there were two different images for the portfolio, one the thumbnail and the other one, the product you see on the portfolio page. Other ways is really complicated to set up a good design on that.
I expected a bit of code to fix it, seems there’s no way.

Would be great to considerate for next updates.

    Hey,
Ok so to clarify some things. You can set the single image size to be whatever you want by setting the max-width and max-height setting in the portfolio post edit options.

by default, it will crop the image if it is at least the size of your max width, max height settings. You can set that crop to be whatever you want.

I strongly suggest using larger photos so you support retina screens.

If you want to use a different image then your featured image you can do this by choosing “none” in your project options settings. And choosing “three rows” in your project layout settings.

Then simply add your unique image into the post content itself. If you want to place in a column you can use the column shortcodes or a plugin like: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/siteorigin-panels/

Let me know if that clarifies things.

Hi Ben and all Kadence Theme team,
    Thanks.
    Really clear now.
I already tried what you said and perfect! Setting the image size max width and height it works perfectly!

Thanks again for being so clear, it clarifies everything.
It was a bit weird, I knew must be something to change because is a great theme and I expected so.

    Thanks again!
