Show Post Excerpts on Front Page

    Hey.

    On the theme I’m developing, I’d like to list all of the recent posts like normal on the front page, except I’d like it to be only a short part of the actual content. I’d normally use the_excerpt(), but I want to adjust the length of the content shown as well as that annoying ” […] ” at the end.

    I refuse to use a plugin, so is there any easy way to do this via functions.php?
