How to list the categories widget with a specific option selected?

    Hi,

    I’m using pictorico theme on https://www.imonlyhappywhenitravel.com. On the menu, I have “Destinations” which consist of continents. By clicking each continent, I want to show the “posts” related to that continent, in this case, category, as I categorized the posts as such. I tried using “Categories” on destinations page but it lists all the categories. How can I list the categories widget with a specific option selected, such as only Europe? If you look at the “Asia” part on the page you’ll know what I mean. When I have a second category, it obviously lists all of the categories as I couldn’t select any somewhere.

    I would suggest using Custom Menu Widgets. You would create a custom menu for each (Europe, Asia and America) and add the appropriate category to that menu and then assign each of those menus to a Menu Widget in the correct place.

    Alternately, you could use Custom HTML Widgets and add linked text to each as appropriate.

    Hi @sacredpath,
    I was wondering if you would you have an idea. Remember I had created custom menus following your advice. Next to it is a content slider with just pics running and I want it to behave like a callout (and goto https://imonlyhappywhenitravel.com/europe) when it’s clicked. I couldn’t see anything proper on settings other than html id&class info. Should I be adding some code with those references or is there any other option?
