I have the free version of the plugin – just evaluating with a view to getting the pro version.

I have it installed and linked to my account. However, I’m struggling to get the products onto amazon.

    My setup is as follows:
All my products have variations (Clothing items).
All variations, and the “header” product are assigned SKU’s (Internally generated by us).
None of the products or variations currently have EAN’s, GTIN or AID.

I did the mapping to the best of my ability, and picked a product we knew was already on amazon. Unsurprisingly it wouldn;t go through. I assume as it needs a way of matching to Amazon’s AIN?

..so for this test product, I manually looked up the ain for each variation. This did put the listings through to my amazon account, but with a listing of “Failed” on the amazon inventory. (although I was able to amend them once in amazon, I’m not sure if they are still linked!).

Am I right in saying I need the AID or EAN for each product before I can link it to Amazon? Or is there an easier way?

Also, the errors on the feed were:
PL-SPOT 90057 Error The variation_theme field contains an invalid value: Ex Large. To correct this error, choose from the valid set of values.
1 PL-SPOT 99010 Error A value is missing from one or more required columns from this group: [parent_child = “parent”], [variation_theme = “Ex Large”].

(We got this for every variation). Does this mean I need to change the values I am using in the Size attribute, or is there a mapping missing?

Many Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello Paul.

I am happy to assist you today.

To match one of your products over to Amazon all you need to do is follow this documentation: Listing existing products on Amazon – matching variable listings is explained a little bit lower.

You need to match to the ASIN for matched listings, and you need a UPC/EAN for new listings. You may also want to read this: Listing variable products on Amazon

    In regards to those errors:

PL-SPOT 90057 Error The variation_theme field contains an invalid value: Ex Large. To correct this error, choose from the valid set of values.

PL-SPOT 99010 Error A value is missing from one or more required columns from this group: [parent_child = “parent”], [variation_theme = “Ex Large”].

…you need to select a value from the “Allowed Values” section. If you select a product attribute that will have WP-Lister insert values like “Blue, Yellow” etc. if the attribute was “Color” for example. But that is not what we want, we want the value to actually be “Color” does that make sense? When selecting an attribute it uses the attributes actual values, but we don’t want that in this case. The variation theme tells Amazon what option like “Color, Size, etc.” makes your products differ, they don’t want the values like size, color etc.

You should insert for example “Size” (from the allowed values section of the drop down menu for the variation theme in the listing profile) as the variation theme if size is what makes your variations differ.

You then would select your “Size attribute” in the “Size” field of the listing profile, that is where you provide the different values for your variations.

    Kind regards,
    John

    Thanks John,

I /think/ I have the sizes etc now. Just testing a few more.

Since I don’t have the EAN for any of the products on there, I guess it’s going to be a manual process for each product to look up the aid where it exists. Assuming I’d need to apply for a GTIN for each product that isn’t already on amazon? (Sorry – I know that’s outside the plugin, but…).

Any easier way you are aware of to get the AID other than manually searching?

    Cheers,

    Paul

    Hello Paul.

Unfortunately I am not aware of any easier way. You can upload the ASINs to WP-Lister for Amazon with a CSV plugin but you would still need to manually look up the ASINs before inserting them into the CSV and uploading it to your site.

If you want to list new items to Amazon then yes, you would need to apply for approval to be exempt from providing UPC/EAN’s which in that case you would follow this doc: I have my brand registered with Amazon and am allowed to omit UPCs / EANs when listing new products – but I still get errors when submitting a feed.

    Kind regards,
    John
