Hello,

I have encountered some problems with the integration of Yoast with WPadverts. Slug and meta description are not filled up in Yoast whereas the plugin seems 100% compatible.
The problem are the same on fresh start WP configuration that on my live site.

In details :
1. The advert slug is not take into account into the http address field of the snippet.
That gives : https://<site>/<title> instead of https://<site>/advert/<title>

2. How to insert an excerpt for the Yoast meta description field ? I have tried to create a short description custom field and used it with the %%cf_<custom_field>%% tag but it does not work.

Am i missing something ?

Thank you for your help.

Hi,
1. this looks like a problem in the snippet preview only, it does not seem to affect the advert details pages, that is the URL there is ok, but i will take a look at it in one of next WPAdverts releases.

2. according to https://kb.yoast.com/kb/yoast-wordpress-seo-titles-metas-template-variables/ you can insert excerpt using %%excerpt%% however WPAdverts is not using exceprts by default so this will always generate an empty string i suppose.

The custom fields according to documentation as well can be used as %%cf_<field_name>%% for example if you would like to add location there it would be %%cf_adverts_location%% i tried it on my dev site and it seems to be working fine?

Thanks a lot Greg.
I did not success to use %% and custom fields for Yoast excerpt.
Moreover, in my configuration, Yoast is not working properly with woocommerce products too. Perhaps a problem with translated slugs with WPML.
I have decided to test WPAdverts with All in one SEO pack and it is working like a charm, and this, without any effort of development.
