Facebook counter went to ZERO after migration to SSL. is there a solution?

After adding SSL and migrating all links to “https”, Facebook counters on all pages went to 0 (zero). On some of the pages we had tens or hundreds of likes/shares, now they display “0”.
I had read that this is a Facebook issue, as far as Facebook is treating the “https” links as new URLs.
Still, I would like to ask the developers – is there a possibility to fix (hack) this issue via a new version of Genesis Simple Share plugin?
