Add Portfolio Option to page-template

  • Hello guys,

    I hope very much that you can help me.

    I would like to display the “Portfolio Options” also on the Pages-template, to create a carousel gallery. How is this possible?

  • Hello Max,

    The free theme is somewhat limited on how you can add portfolio content to a regular page. The Premium version has many options for adding portfolio content to a page.

    One way would be to use Page Builder, and add a Virtue: Image Grid widget to the page content.

    Thank you for your answer Kevin. Unfortunately it’s not the same as the beautiful carousel gallery.

    Isn’t there a way to add ?Portfolio Options“ metabox to the pages template?

    You would have to write the code into a child theme in order to get portfolio options enabled on the page template.

    Can you link to the carousel gallery that you’re trying to add to your page so I can be sure of what you’re referring to?

    You would have to add a custom function into a child theme. You can read about child themes here: https://www.kadencethemes.com/child-themes/
    Just to note, there are options for this within the premium theme.

    I’ve already created a child theme.

    @jx-3p: I’ve uploaded a picture of the gallery I’m talking about to imgur: https://imgur.com/a/h7yJI (The Page is actually in construction mode.)

    I would be so thankful if there is a possibility to add the gallery options to the page template.

    Hey,
    This isn’t an option within the free theme. But you can do this as part of the premium theme options. That carousel is not only built in as an option for a page template but you can also display it anywhere on any post type using a widget or shortcode.

    In terms of creating it yourself, we don’t code custom features for people as part of theme support. I can point you in the right direction by pointing out the templates/content-single-portfolio-project.php file. Lines 29-35 deal with the carousel. That is the php front end that you would need to implement.

    Do I have this options within the Kadence Membership?

    Will my child-theme and my settings keep active if upgrading to Ascend Pro?

    Kadence Membership includes all themes and plugins so yes this would include premium ascend.

    Your theme options would transfer from free to premium.
