Countries and flags will not show

    The wp-statistics plug-in works fine, but the countries and flags are not shown for visitor IPs. I found another thread and followed the advice below. However the problem persists. Grateful for advice. Thank you.

    I was also advised to check the PHP error log, but I could not find it as indicated under “optimization”.

    – On another system (any PC will do) download the maxmind database from https://geolite.maxmind.com/download/geoip/database/GeoLite2-Country.mmdb.gz
    – Decompress the database
    – Connect to your web host and create a “wp-statistics” directory in your wordpress uploads folder (usually it is located in wp-content, so you would create a directory “wp-content/uploads/wp-statistics”).
    – Upload the GeoLite-Country.mmdb file to the folder you just created.

    I apologize for this thread. This problem is solved.

    I ran the “update” option under the plug-in and then all the old records became populated with flags and countries as should be.

    Thank you so much for a great plug-in.
