    Hi,

I noticed my sites back-end were very slow as soon as they were hosted at Site Ground. So I submitted a ticket and here is the Site Ground tech support reply:

I decided to trace the process spawned by the WordPress scripts. The script responsible for creating and editing posts and pages was responding quite slow and the reason for that is the timeouts appears to be due to the wordpress-seo plugin:

    Code:

  • Hi Florence,

In order to better assist you we’d need additional information:

    1. Are you running the latest version of WordPress 4.8.2, Yoast SEO 5.6.1, your theme and your plugins?
    2. Does the problem occur when all non-Yoast plugins are deactivated and your theme is on Twenty Seventeen?
    3. Are there any JavaScript errors in your browser’s console? This KB article explains how to find JavaScript errors with your browser’s console
    4. Where and when do you experience slowness in the backend, i.e. when you are editing a post or page? Does this happen on all posts and pages or only on very long posts?
    5. If you were to go to SEO > Dashboard > Features and disable the Link Suggestion and MetaBox Insights sections does the site then run as expected?
