    Hi,

I am trying to simply add an existing ad to a new post I just published. In the ad conditions, I try to add the new post to the list of current posts and pages where the ad displays, but when I try to add it in the “title or id”, when I put in the form words of the title of my new post or even the ID of the post, I get only a very partial list of pages (no post) that do not fit the title words I search for…

This is a very strange bug preventing me to correctly use the plugin to add the ad…

I can add that the shortcode of the ad doesn’t display the ad on the post either…

    Hi Nick,

I am sorry that the ad does not display.

First of all, you don‘t need to define a condition if you don’t want to limit and just show it on all posts.

The conditions also work for the shortcodes so if you had set some but not one for the current post it is normal that the ad would not show.

About the actual post: is it still not found? I am not aware of any issue with that feature but would be happy to take a closer look.

    Hi Thomas,

I don’t want to display the on all posts. I want to add an ad I already display on specific posts. As I just want to add my new post in the list of specific posts the ad displays on. But, as I explain, when I try to add this new post on the list of specific posts I already display the ad on, your plugin doesn’t get the right posts on choice (only pages and affiliate links and not posts, and nothing related to the right keyword of the title. I doesn’t work either on post ID). Here is a screenshot: https://snag.gy/YAzbdp.jpg

The post is correctly published (https://www.nicolassarrasin.com/depression-symptomes-signes)

    Thanks

p.s.: I update your plugin as an update was release today, but it didn’t solve the problem.

    Hi Nick,

    thanks for the screenshot.

We are using the WordPress post search here, so maybe that just means there are a lot of posts which also fit. It is strange though that the ID doesn’t work. Would it be possible to contact me via our support page and provide me with a login? I can not recreate this locally.

    Hi Thomas,

There seem to be a bug with WordPress post search, because as you can see in the screenshot, the few pages suggested have no relation with the keyword “dépression” adn ID doesn’t work, and not a simple post is suggested (all pages or affiliate links).

    Thanks

    Hi Nick,

do they maybe contain the keyword in the text?

Would it be possible for me to take a look because I can not reproduce it.

No, this is the problem: the pages suggested when I enter the word “dépression” have nowhere this word (neither suggested affiliate links) AND the post that contains it does not appear in the choices. Moreover, no single post is suggested (and I have far more posts than pages in my site) and the ID suggest the same list. Whatever I enter in the search form to add a new post to display the ad, your plugin always give the same list…

But I just test the internal WordPress post search and it seems to be broken…

And sorry, but I cannot give you access to my site.

But the problem seem to be with WordPress and not your plugin… If you have more information about this, please keep me inform, because this impact your plugin.

    Thanks!

Thanks for testing the internal WP search. Maybe another plugin hacks into it and so breaks it. I could not help in that case, even with admin access.

Sorry Thomas, but I was wrong. I made more test with the Internal search posts of WP and it works correctly.
Thus it really seems that it is your plugin that have a problem because whatever I try to add in the search (“title or id”) it deliver the same list of wrong pages and affiliates links (and no posts).
    Thanks

    Thanks.

I think I may have found another site with such an issue and full backend access, and hope I can debug it there.

    Hi Nick,

I was able to fix the search for a post ID and cannot reproduce any other issue.

Please let me know if you would like a beta or whether this can wait until the next official release (probably next week).

    Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your excellent support! I will wait for the update, because I don’t know how to manually update a plugin without losing all my current parameters. But I am not in a hurry.

While you could remove the whole code of Advanced Ads, install the new version and still have your data, I understand if you just want to wait for the next release.

    Hi Thomas,

I receive today a notification from Wordfence telling “The Plugin “Advanced Ads” has been removed from www.ads-software.com.” This is strange.

I also see on the WordPress plugin page that the latest version is 1.8.13 but you told me the problem I’ve contact you for would be solved in the next update of your plugin and there is no mention in my plugins that I can uppdate Advanced Ads (I am still with the verion 1.8.12).

    Thanks
