    Thanks in advance for any help on the matter.

    WordPress system: Fresh Manual Install of 2.7
    PHP Version on Hosting Server: 5
    Web Browsers tested: Firefox 3.0.5 and Safari 3.2.1
    Flash Version: 9
    MySQL Database: MySQL 4.1.21

    {As a disclaimer, I have visited the extremely popular [sticky] [closed] Image/Media Uploader problems? (1 post), and I have tried everything on it. I have also deeply explored the Forums for a solution, and I have tried many other suggestions, still with no success}

    The Problem? WordPress is not creating thumbnails for me, and when I upload images I cannot select anything but the original size. Since most of the posts in the forum are about previous versions of WordPress, does someone know of a fix on 2.7? This does not mean that I have not tried the many solutions out there.

    # I have checked the images. They are all RGB, and I have tried various formats, from jpgs to pngs, and various pixel dimensions, from 1200 wide to 600 wide, and nothing seems to work.

    # Permissions on the hosting are where they are supposed to be. I have even set it up at 777 to test with no success.

    # I always post from a computer, not a mobile device

    # I have tried more than one theme (just in case) and the problem persists

    Sorry, sorry… I completely forgot to post how I resolved the issue.

    After trying most of the solutions on other posts, I considered another possibility. I contacted my hosting service provider directly, and so it happened that that way that my hosting service manages MySQL (I phrase it this way because I am not a pro on this so I have no idea if other services manage differently) required an extra setup to be done to allow for the GD gallery to create the thumbnails. Once they had set that up for me, I was up and running in no time.
