Displaying Comments on Pages

I’ve made a word-of-the-day section that I display on the front page and as a separate page.

The comments show up on the front page https://www.startingrealestate.com/

and in full on the post itself https://www.startingrealestate.com/net-worth/

but on the word-of-the-day page they don’t https://www.startingrealestate.com/real-estate-term-of-the-day/.

I don’t need the full comment display with input boxes, just would like the little “(1 Comment)” text to appear on the post and at the bottom of the page itself.

I’m using dojo theme and wordpress 2.7.

I also tested with a simpler page:
the archives page: https://www.startingrealestate.com/?s=tester+page shows the comments
whereas the page page: https://www.startingrealestate.com/tester-page-998/
does not.

How do I get comments appearing on actual “page” pages, not just “posts” and the “main index page”
