In the previous version of the plugin the url /directory/edit would take the current user to their listing so they could edit it, now that link no loner works and the user has to search the directory for their listing and then click Edit from within the profile only

Is there a new link I can add to my main nav that will reflect the updated paths so every user can access their profile from the main nav?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @codebloo,

Sorry that you ran into issues here!

Off hand, I’m not sure what might have happened there.

I will have my developer check into this and I’ll report back when I know more.

    Well that was quick!

A conversation with my developer yielded this…

We have never supported /directory/edit as an edit URL. Could it be the case that she’s talking about a different directory plugin? The /edit is not a URL we even recognize

Can you please confirm that you have Business Directory Plugin installed by D. Rodenbaugh? If not, you’ll probably find better luck talking to the author of the plugin instead of us. ??

I don’t now what to tell you, that url always worked for our users before the latest upgrade. Regardless of which, how can I add a link to the main nav that will take the current logged in user to their BD profile please?

I am indeed using your plugin (https://imgur.com/tdhjw9c) including paid modules.

    Hi @codebloo,

Yes, that’s definitely our plugin. If the /edit URL used to work, that must be something in a custom post type that we didn’t explicitly add. My apologies that it broke in 5.0, but we’re not sure where it came from since we didn’t try to add or remove it in either case.

Does it go to a 404 error when you try it? Have you confirmed some other plugin isn’t interfering with it via a conflict test?

    Please let me know.

The link now takes me to a profile for someone called Edith (I guess WP overcorrecting because it sees the word “edit” in her name). I definitely broke down the site to remove other plugins to see if I could get it to work.

Since your dev said it wasn’t explicitly intended to work can you ask them if there IS a link, or a snippet I can throw in to provide a nav level “edit” link that doesn’t require the current user to already be on their profile page in order to edit?

    thanks

    Hi @codebloo,

I’ll ask my developer and see what we can find. Maybe it’s behavior we can re-enable once we understand where it comes from…?
