    Hi,
I’m thinking about making a webshop for a middle to big customer of mine using woocommerce. Im investigating the posibilities of migrating the custom work that is in the current webshop to the woocommerce webshop to avoid negative surprises down the way.

The current webshop uses a custom logic to determine whenever a customer must pay vat.
For Belgian companies who enters Chamber of Commerce number in checkout, vat is 0%.
For Belgian consumers, vat is 21%.
For local companies / consumers vat is always 21%

Can I implement this in WooCommerce?

I’m a c# .Net developer and a noob in PHP, but love the flexibility and ease of WordPress. so please advice me.

Thanks in advance guys for ur time.

    Regards,

  • Hi,

In the first place, you need to set your Tax Rates accordingly for countries. You do this in WooCommerce> settings> Tax.

If you have disabled tax support, you must enable it at WooCommerce> settings.

On the internet you will find a lot of guides on how to properly configure them. It would be nice if you also used a plug-in to verify the VAT number.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
