When I have categories with no events assigned to them they still show on in the legend. This is not how WP works by default so I find it odd that this plugin would work this way. I see that I can check them off to hide then manually but that doesn’t make it very user friendly. As you can see in my example link the Economic Development category is shown but when clicked there is no events.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The legend shows all categories that you have created that are not hidden.

Clicking on a link in the legend will only show those events that are visible in the query. The plugin does not create the query.

If you have created a category but have not yet assigned any events to it then, yes you will see the behavior you describe. It is expected.

    Andy,

Since the default for WP category queries is to NOT show the category if it doesn’t have any events assigned to it why does your plugin not do the same? What is the reason for showing empty event categories?

    Josh,

You can create a template override for the display of the legend and include whichever categories you choose. The default is to display all categories that are not hidden.

Please refer to the wiki for details on where to put a template override.

I’m also interested in this functionality. We are going to use this plugin to color code events coming from about 20 different institutions, many of which won’t have events all the time. @joshpaynedesigns , did you come up with a solution?
