I had to turn off this plugin. I’m using Email Before Download and Download Monitor plugins. I was running into a problem where the download links emailed were returning a 403 error or a message that says “Sorry, your request cannot be accepted”. Disabling this plugin was the only thing that fixed it.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @forkenbrock,

Disabling this plugin was the only thing that fixed it.

Did you try to check “Email Before Download” in “Exceptions” at “Plugins area“?

If your answer is NO, please try it.

By the way, since the download link in https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/email-before-download/ had been deleted, I can not test it. The author’s home page says:

WordPress has asked us for some updates to the code of our plugin.

I think there’s a certain reason that we should stop downloading it or using it.

    It also says:

We hope to have it back in the Plugin Directory very soon. Our changelog below will be updated accordingly.

So when they finish their work, I’ll be back to this issue.

Thank you. That resolved the issue. I put 3 plugins on the exception list (Email Before Download, Contact Form 7 and Download Monitor), but it was probably just one of those.

However, I’m not sure if my IP GEO settings changed, but when I reactivated the IP Geo Plugin, all of my administrator accounts are being locked constantly. I wasn’t getting any of these before. US is the only country in the whitelist of the Validation rule settings.

    Hi @forkenbrock,

    Sorry about your bad experience.

I’d like to ask you to do followings in order to investigate the cause.

    1. Deactivate IP Geo Block.
    2. Edit just one line in ip-geo-block.php to make it enable Emregent functionality.
    3. Upload it to your /wp-content/plugins/ip-geo-block/ folder.
    4. Activate IPGB again.
    5. Upload the original ip-geo-block.php to /wp-content/plugins/ip-geo-block/ to restore the original situation.
    6. If you find the warning like the following picture, please re-check your settings of this plugin.

If something was wrong, then I think “deactivating” this plugin did something wrong because of the “Auto recovery function at activation phase” of this plugin.

In this case, you can click the “Dashboard” link on the “Sorry, your request cannnot be accepted” dialog.

    Other possible cause are:

    • A special crafted nonce for “Zero-day Exploit Prevention” (WP-ZEP) was expired.
    • OR some JavaScript error happens and it prevent to embed a nonce into the link.

To confirm those cases, please try to disable “Zero-day Exploit Prevention” at “Admin ajax/post” in “Back-end target settings” section.

    I hope your feedback.
    Thanks.

The alerts seem to have subsided. I will try these steps if they return.

Thank you for your amazing support.
